#mancrushmonday Peter Freuchen. Arctic Explorer, cartographer, author, anthropologist. 1886 - 1957

Peter stood against the christian proselytizing of the Inuit people claiming they hadn’t bothered to learn and appreciate the culture. 

During WWII he joined the Danish resistance against the Nazis. He was captured, sentenced to death and ESCAPED despite the fact he’d previously lost a leg to frostbite.

The Inuit called him Peter the Great. I do too.
